Celebrating a Legacy

To celebrate the life and accomplishments of Rachel Carson – biologist, writer, and ecologist – several events were held, each requiring designed materials.

Rachel Carson was fond of the monarch butterfly, so that became the iconic element throughout the design of the event materials. The bottom right corner of the invitation and the dinner program were diecut to the shape of the bottom wings of the butterfly. To help minimize print costs for the non-profit organization, we used the same die in the exact size and position for both pieces.

Warm, natural colors also helped to reflect the colors in nature – a strong influence in Rachel Carson’s life.

Drawing Conclusions designed additional pieces including an rsvp card, bookmark, tote bag, banners and signage - all carrying the color palette and butterfly theme.
